Over the years, many people have asked us for simple, slowed-down demonstrations of traditional Jewish prayers and songs. We’re excited to say that it’s now available!

 

The course, also known as Rising Daveners, is designed to help your child gain confidence and to find their own soulful voice in the Jewish tradition.

Joey and Rena teach all major parts of the Shabbat morning prayer service, such as Pesukei D’zimra, Shacharit, Amidah, Torah service, Musaf, as well as Chanting Torah and Haftarah, Kiddush and Havdalah, singing a zemer and a nigun, and more. Joey is the founder and director of Hadar's Rising Song Institute. A musician, teacher and fellow young davener who has a deep love for ancient Jewish prayer, he has been leading energetic, musical t’filot in communities for many years. 

Rena Branson

A Jewish composer, ritual leader, and educator who uplifts personal and collective healing through song, Rena creates new liturgical music and teaches Hasidic nigunim, expanding access to these powerful melodies for all seekers.
